Bunnings has now introduced its own shopping limits to combat panic buying of essential household items.

The temporary restrictions, which came into effect from today, will see shoppers be limited to purchasing a maximum of four items per person for cleaning and storage products, batteries and garden sprayers.

Shoppers will also be restricted to a maximum of one item per customer for generators, respirators, face masks, gas bottles, methylated spirits, fuel cans and turpentine.

Bunnings Managing Director Michael Schneider said in a release that other products will be available for purchase as normal.

“We’re seeing increased demand for some products and we want to be as fair as possible for customers.

“We are working closely with suppliers to get stock into stores to meet customer demand and our suppliers have been a huge support in making this happen.”

A few weeks ago, Bunnings cancelled their famous sausage sizzle campaign due to the coronavirus outbreak.
