Queensland authorities have revealed that the husband of a woman who fled Victoria during the state’s lockdown has now also tested positive to the virus.

The 44-year-old Melbourne woman tested positive on Wednesday after arriving in Queensland on June 5.

She left northern Melbourne with her husband on June 1 and drove to Queensland via regional NSW and northern Victoria.

QLD health tested six close contacts exposed to her while staying with family at Caloundra on Wednesday night on the Sunshine Coast.

One of them is her husband, isolated in hospital after initially returning a negative result last night and has now returned a positive test this morning.

These new virus cases are the first incident of community transmission in Queensland for more than nine weeks.
