McDonald’s Australia today announced that they have bottled up their iconic Big Mac Special Sauce for $12 per bottle in support of McHappy Day.

Over 144,000 bottles of the Big Mac Special Sauce will be available to be purchased from participating McDonald’s restaurants, with all profits donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Served-up in 500ml bottles, Aussies are encouraged to share and post how they are using Big Mac Special Sauce in everyday meals and hashtag #mchappyday to help raise awareness and support families who are going through a hard time.

As the largest annual fundraiser for RMHC Australia nationally, McHappy Day is instrumental in raising funds for the charity, which helps keep families together while their seriously ill child undergoes treatment. Since its inception in Australia in 1991, McHappy Day has raised more than $46 million for RMHC.

Director of Marketing at McDonald’s Australia Jo Feeney said, “We know that Big Mac Special Sauce has a loyal following, and we’re excited to bring back bottles of this Aussie favourite for our customers for a limited time. Pick up your bottle in restaurants around the country in the lead up to McHappy Day.”

Other ways Aussies can show their support for McHappy Day include:

  • Picking-up a pair of Silly Socks for $5
  • Buying a Big Mac from McDonald’s – $2 from every Big Mac sold on 16th November goes directly to RMHC
  • Buying a Helping Hand for $2, $10 or $50
  • Making a gold coin donation via the McHappy Day Bucket Brigades
