A recall has been issued for Subaru Forester MY2019 models.
There are fears that excessive exhaust smoke or loss or engine power could result in an accident or injury to vehicle owners and other road users, the consumer watchdog has said.
“Over time, the aluminium positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve may fracture, allowing the engine to draw an increased amount of engine oil,” the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said in a statement.
This may cause excessive exhaust smoke and possibly unexpected loss of engine power.”
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted and prompted to schedule an appointment for free inspection and repair.
