After announcing a nationwide restructure earlier this year, Target has announced closure dates for its Queensland stores, with some shutting down this weekend. 

Target’s parent company ‘Wesfarmers’ have announced that a large number of the Target stores will be converted into Kmart’s right across the nation.

The stores that will be closing down in the next few weeks include: 

  • April 10th: Longreach Stores.
  • April 17th: Clifton Beach Stores.
  • April 24th: Kippa-Ring Stores.
  • May 1st: Cairns Stores.
  • June 5th: Townsville Stores.
  • Date TBC: Beaudesert Stores.
  • Date TBC: Emerald Stores.
  • Date TBC: Murgon Stores.
  • Date TBC: Moranbah Stores.

Approximately 75 Target and Target country stores will be closed down nationwide by the end of the year, with another 62 stores set to be saved by transforming into Kmart stores.
