If you’re headed out of Brisbane for the long weekend you’ll definitely want to read ahead.
Tigerair pilots announced on Monday evening they’ll be taking industrial action at airports around the country this Friday.

“The decision to engage in a work stoppage was not made lightly,” Senior Industrial Officer James Lauchland said in a statement.

“The current agreement is well below industry standards, both in terms of pay and conditions. Tigerair pilots are simply looking for a fair deal.
In response, a Tigerair spokesperson said, “Tigerair continues to negotiate in good faith with the AFAP/VIPA and we look forward to reaching a mutually beneficial outcome as soon as possible.”
“If any change should be made to your flight, we will be in contact as soon as possible with your options, including re-accommodation on another Tigerair Australia or Virgin Australia service wherever possible,” the alert said.
UPDATE: TigerAir has revealed that all passengers have already been advised of any changes to their flight, with most being put on an alternate flight within 2 hours of their originally scheduled departure.
