A man who has fathered 23 children in one year is being investigated for allegedly making too many sperm donations.

The man, a 40-year-old from Brisbane, is thought to have been providing donations through both registered and clinics and privately.

However, it is the number of donations being made that has brought the spotlight on the man who has been making the charitable contributions throughout Melbourne over the past year.

Under that state’s law, a man can father children with up to 10 women, including their own partners.

The man is thought to have been donating both through formal, registered means, along with informal channels such as an online group called Sperm Donation Australia.

The man has previously described his hobby to Kidspot as “a full-time job” at times. Telling of how he supplemented his diet with various vitamins in order to help his fertility.
