Sad new for Brisbane theatre goers as QPAC announces closure util 30 April 2020.

The Major Arts Hub shared a statement on their Facebook & Instagram yesterday.

“As Queensland’s major performing arts centre our role has always been to bring people and community together to connect and share experiences through live performance.”

“This unprecedented environment challenges all that QPAC has done for the past 35 years and the decisions needing to be made each day come with great responsibility.”

“Following the Prime Minister’s most recent direction QPAC’s theatres will now be closed until Thursday 30 April 2020.”

“All patrons affected by the cancellation of performances and events in this period will be contacted directly by QPAC and will receive a full refund.”

It’s not secret that workers in the Arts/Entertainment world are feeling the impact of COVID-19 hard as local & major events & secured gigs are cancelled or postponed indefinitely.
