Let’s face it, most of Brisbane’s riverside bars carry a hefty ticket fee for their New Year’s Eve parties. While the drinks package is enticing, there are plenty of other spots in Brissy that offer gorgeous views of the fireworks! So let’s make this NYE celebration epic!

There’ll be two firework displays this year. One at 8:30pm and one as the clock strikes twelve!

Here are our recommendations:

South Bank:

It’s an obvious one and every man and his dog will be down at South Bank but it really is a spectacular location. Just have your transportation plan in place as Ubers are going to cost an arm and a leg.

High Gate Hill Park:

A smaller location that’s still close to South Bank. It offers great views of the skyline. It’s a perfect spot for a picnic!

Cross Street Toowong:

Now, this is a top-secret location. But if you don’t want to go into the city and just want to catch the fireworks from afar, then this small location is perfect. Head up the stairs to the Theology College and catch it from the car park!

Kangaroo Point Cliffs:

This location will be busy but awesome. You’ll be right amongst the fireworks! I highly recommend parking in Woolloongabba and walking in!

Captain Burke Park:

Nestled on the tip near the Story Bridge this location will be great for watching fireworks. Be warned getting out might be tricky. Worth it for the views though!

King George Square:

Right in the centre of the city, this will be where the action is! Look up and watch the fireworks over your head!

New Farm Park:

Get the charcuterie board out and settle in for a lovely vibe from where the grass is greener. Parking is limited, I recommend either walking from Fortitude Valley train station or getting the bus!

Where ever you decide to spend your New Year’s Eve, we hope you have a fabulous time and here’s to 2023!!
