Who would’ve thought that little old Brisbane would be considered one of the most liveable cities in the world.
In The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Liveability Index for 2021, which ranks 140 cities across the world and their liveability, Brisbane has been named third in the world and first in Australia!
The Index accesses the cities based on a range of categories, which include healthcare, stability, culture and environment, education, and infrastructure.
Brisbane’s score for these categories was:
Culture & Environment: 85.9
Auckland, New Zealand scored first place with Osaka, Japan following behind it in second. But Adelaide ranked higher than Tokyo Japan, London, Vienna…LITLLE ADELAIDE is better than VIENNA!
We are incredibly lucky in Australia, particularly with Covid rampaging through other countries over the past year. Australia had a total of four cities in the top 10, including Adelaide in third, Perth in fourth and Melbourne in eighth.
This gives us HUGE bragging rights and I expect every Brisbanite to name-drop at every opportunity. Who cares about being humble, we need to relish this win.
