Brisbanites, it looks like we’re finally going to get some reprieve from this heat and humidity with showers across this entire week.
While it’s been a drier Summer than what we’re normally used to, they are expecting 70% chance of rain over the next three days (having already seen some rainfall this morning).
The Bureau of Meteorology also predicts that the showers will continue into the weekend.
That doesn’t mean that the mercury will drop considerably – you can still anticipate maximums of 30 and 31 across the week.
The slight ease in Brisbane weather comes as our neighbours in Townsville and surrounding areas do battle with monsoon like conditions.
Between 20 and 30mm total rainfall has been recorded over the #Townsville area since Tuesday 9am but more rain on the way. For the rainfall figures so far check https://t.co/Y5EjXkxizD . Severe weather for damaging winds and heavy rainfall remains current for the area. pic.twitter.com/vT1xJoLp6h

While conditions are reportedly easing, the severe weather warning is still current.
New issues are arising as emergency services attempt to get supplies to the area, minimise any further damage and begin the cleanup.
