After 22 years, people who lived in the United Kingdom during the Mad Cow Disease period of the 80’s and 90’s, are now eligible to donate blood in Australia from Monday July 25th. Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) had approved the Red Cross Lifeblood’s request to receive donations from former ineligible people.

Currently, 11 Million Australians are eligible to donate, with only half-a-million Australians actually giving blood. With the new eligibility experts are hoping to see an increase in blood donations.
